In the heart of Weerribben-Wieden National Park, you’ll find the Gnome Trail at Buitencentrum Weerribben in Ossenzijl. This enchanting walking trail is designed especially for children aged 3 to 6 years, offering a fun and educational way to explore nature.
🌲 What is the Gnome Trail?
The Gnome Trail is a marked route of 500 to 1500 meters through the forest, where children search for gnomes. At the visitor center, they receive a red pointy hat, a face paint kit for rosy cheeks, and a backpack with treats. Using a Gnome Book filled with tasks and stories, they follow gnome footprints, wagon tracks, and pressed grass, and at the end of the trail, they create a nature painting to take home.
